Description

It started many years ago with Carl’s mother’s old family BBQ sauce recipe. (Mama Doris is also responsible for the delicious homemade desserts and the scrumptious homemade coleslaw) The Original Tongue Tinglin’ BBQ Sauce can still be found in grocery stores in Eastern NC. Carl took the recipe and his grill down to the radio station to cook for John Boy & Billy in Charlotte, NC. They loved the food, especially the sauce, thus blossomed John Boy & Billy’s Grillin’ Sauces.
Carl was an “almost famous” award winning pit master with his own BBQ sauce but no place to hang his apron. Michelle was bored with her job and searching for a challenge (be careful what you wish for!). Ribs were Carl’s specialty and Michelle loved the beach, so by merging their talents and dreams on February 22, 2005, The Rib Hut was born.
